Breathing Device Levels
Breathing Device Levels
Most people with COPD find it easy to start with a Level 1 device and then either progress to Level 2 or keep using Level 1.
People who are new at practicing mindful breathing will find Level 1 device easier to use.
But for those who already practice mindful breathing, Level 2 device may be better.

I received the device only a few days ago and I'm glad that I ordered it. I have extensive lung damage do to a virus I contracted years ago, past smoking history, and occupational chemicals I worked with. I have what is considered as advanced COPD. I have worked hard to keep breathing and have a functional life. My Pulmonologist suggested the device to help with lowering carbon dioxide retention. I think this may be helpful. I do the pursed breathing often but this is making it much easier. I can do it with much less effort. I'm hoping it can lower my numbers in that area. I will write another positive review if this happens.
PEP BUDDY ROCKS! I used it and it helped me to do heavy tasks and walk further and faster due to my COPD, my 84 year old father refuses to use one but he's a good pursed lip breather and I am not! While I use it I ususally am using both hands so it's great to just spit it out.
Backtrack...I was recommended Pulmonary re-hab by my pulmonologist, but the 3 day week, 3:30 - 5 sessions seemed a waste of time I'm too busy..My siblings and I split up taking Dad to cardio re-hab, 3 days a week, 3:30 - 5 for 8 weeks after stroke/heart surgery and I loved the Rehab nurses there! I asked Steve, the coolest dude, can I use this (around my neck) to get better? Turns out they do the Plumonary rehab there! OMG, going soon!
But in the meantime Steve told me use the HECK out of it, no, your lungs will never get "better" but you can use this Pep Buddy for the rest of your life with great relief..it keeps positive pressure in your lungs, same as pursed lip. I used this product daily now..
Sister is a mountain climber, avid hiker. She and her husband have a souped up camping van and they go remote. She asked me if one of "those things" might help her when she gets high up and has breathing difficulty. For sure I said. Ordered her two and can't wait to see how it works, she just left for a trip this morning. BRILLIANT idea Pep Buddy!!!!
I saw this product on YouTube. I was recently diagnosed with EDAC and TMB. My doctor recommended a device to help with my breathing, but she didn’t know the name. Then, I came across this YouTube video in which the young lady described the same diseases I had. So, I ordered the set of two PEP devices. I’ve been using them daily. I always keep it around my neck ready to use. It’s very discreet. It’s only been a week and a half. I hope and pray it works. I really don’t want surgery.
After watching the Dr. Zafar's PEP Buddy instructions and teaching on YouTube I decided to purchase both the #1 and #2 units. I'm glad I did too because I use them at different times for different types of breathing. These really help too with my breathing following Dr. Zafar's videos. I love the lanyard also to keep it handy and not losing it. When using it I have a little trouble keeping it in my lips when breathing, so I just hold it with my front teeth to keep it in place. These have helped me so much I keep one with me all the time everywhere I go. They are so simple and effective, they do exactly what they say it does. I recommend these to anybody with COPD like I have. Watch Dr. Zafar's videos about COPD respiratory issues to understand how these work because knowledge of what's going on is priceless.
